WHO WE ARE, AND WHAT WE DO

Located in Lethbridge Alberta, the Last Chance Cat Ranch is the largest cat rescue south of Calgary. We are a not-for-profit, no-kill rescue organization. Our mission is to save cats and kittens from untimely deaths, which includes providing necessary veterinary care to homeless and abandoned cats. We tirelessly do our best to find fur-ever homes for abandoned, stray, and surrendered cats, and provide TNR (trap-neuter-release) when financially able to do so.
Our annual operating budget is roughly $425,000 - all of which is provided by donations and fundraising. We do not receive any funding from the Federal, Provincial or Municipal governments. Budget funds are used to cover food, litter, altering and other veterinary care, as well as kennels, litter boxes, toys, and amenities.
We are an entirely volunteer-based rescue and no one receives a salary, including administrative personnel. With approximately 30 active volunteers, we are always looking for more.
We always have cats and kittens in foster care and at the Ranch patiently awaiting their fur-ever homes. We constantly seek new foster homes so we can reduce the number of cats at the Ranch, thereby maintaining a positive quality of life.
All LCCR cats are spayed or neutered at our expense.
All cats and kittens are to be adopted into indoor-only homes, and we do not advocate declawing.
Since it's inception, LCCR has rescued over 4,000 cats and kittens.
We work closely with other rescues in Alberta such as the PAW Society in Lethbridge.
